How to bloom saffron.
Take a small pinch
Use only a few threads to begin; saffron is naturally concentrated.
Add gentle warmth
Steep the threads in a little warm—not boiling—water, milk or stock.
Give it time
Allow the colour and aroma to develop, then add the liquid and threads to your dish.

All red. Nothing unnecessary.
Premium Spanish saffron threads, handpicked with care and selected for their vivid crimson colour, distinctive aroma and depth of flavour.

Wake the threads gently.
Saffron rewards patience. A gentle bloom releases its golden colour and layered aroma more evenly through your dish.
- 01Crush lightly
Rub a small pinch between clean fingers or use a mortar and pestle. Keep some threads whole for finishing.
- 02Add warm liquid
Cover with a little warm—not boiling—water, milk or stock.
- 03Wait 10–20 minutes
Let the liquid turn deep gold while the aroma opens.
- 04Use every drop
Add both the infusion and the threads to your dish; that is where the colour and flavour live.
A small jar, a world of dishes.
Use saffron wherever warmth, perfume and a beautiful golden hue can lift the whole plate.
Rice, paella & risotto
Bloom the threads in warm stock, then stir the whole infusion into rice for even colour and aroma.
Chicken, seafood & slow cooking
Add the bloom to marinades, braises, soups and stews. Saffron pairs especially well with garlic, citrus, tomato and gentle spices.
Desserts & baking
Infuse warm milk or cream for custards, cakes, ice cream, rice pudding and delicately scented pastries.
Tea & warm drinks
Add a few threads to tea, warm milk or a honeyed infusion and allow them time to release their colour.
A little saffron knowledge.
What are saffron threads?
They are the dried red stigmas from the Crocus sativus flower. Each flower produces only three.
Why bloom saffron first?
Steeping the threads gently helps disperse their colour, aroma and flavour evenly through a dish.
What can I cook with saffron?
It is at home in rice, paella, risotto, soups, tea, milk-based drinks and desserts.
How much should I use?
Start with a small pinch. Saffron is concentrated, and a little can flavour an entire dish.
